Elan E6: design and performance
This cruiser racer is designed by Humphreys Yacht Design naval architect, who drew out even more performance from this project while still maintaining the same dual purpose of the E line as in previous models from Elan. Elan’s love for the sea and Pininfarina’s passion for speed came together in the exterior design of this yacht.
Technology that is at the top of the consumer level is utilized to build the Elan E6. High tech composites and Gurit (the leading company in this field) have combined their expertise to bring you the best in class yacht.
The E6 is lighter than its competition in its class, and combines the best of both worlds when it comes to a performance oriented sailboat that provides an exciting sailing experience. The Elan E6 utilizes 3D VAIL technology to provide the most lightweight and stiff sailboat possible, and a T-keel and a dedicated hull make this the ultimate sailboat in terms of performance.
This yacht is easily sailed by a capable sailor or a couple, but really shows off when there is a full crew. The three pairs of Harken winches, located perfectly for precise trimming and unencumbered movement, were tested using a one-to-one scale model in house using an Olympic sailing team.

Her bright salon houses 3 cabins, a capacious salon and 2 bathrooms.
Storage options include optional grills, sinks and refrigerators, along with two sizes of bathing platforms. All the other lockers have mainsheet ropes feeding into them via boxes located at each side of the cockpit.
Aesthetics and functionality combine in a perfect blend by Pininfarina in the design of the interior of the Elan E6. An inviting and functional place to live at sea, the beautiful and elegant design is created through the use of natural oak veneered interior and enhanced with a solid wood finish.
The color scheme was carefully selected to complement the lines of the yacht, flowing from the rear cabins to the island bed in the master cabin, creating a sense of elegance in motion.
