The Elan 43’s style was created through collaboration with the well-known Italian design firm, Pininfarina, which produced the several award winning Elan E6 and continues its partnership with the Elan Impression 43.
Humphreys Yacht Design was responsible for the development of the sail plan and hull shape of the Elan 43 Impression and it therefore exhibits excellent sailing qualities when laden with crew, and all equipment.
The twin epoxy rudders are designed and constructed by Humphreys Yacht Design in house and were optimized for strength, durability and control. The twin rudder configuration allows for fingertip steering and minimizes the tendency to be over-powered into an unwanted tack.
This robust family cruiser is perfect for comfortably cruising the Mediterranean sea with up to 6 guests in 3 cabins.
The beamy cockpit of the Impression 43 was created with the purpose of enjoying being at anchor as well as enjoying the experience of sailing. There is ample seating for up to 10 passengers so that all will be able to enjoy their time on board. The cockpit table is modular and will convert into two sunbeds that allow you to lounge and/or sunbathe while in the cockpit.
The steering pedestal is beautifully designed to accommodate 9-inch electronics as well as numerous other instrument gauges that a sailor may want to have. Additionally, the twin helm design allows for maximum movement around the boat.
There is also be a multitude of storage areas in the cockpit to store items such as a life raft as well as other safety items that a sailor may need.
Two transom boxes are molded into the deck providing additional seating for the captain and his or her guests as well as providing a place to store a grill and/or a refrigerator.
A foldable bathing platform is provided for increased safety, space and a “closed” feeling when looking through the transom.
Many large, flush hatches and port lights were incorporated into the coach roof to allow natural light as well as fresh air into the interior of the boat.
The standard self-tacking jib will provide sailors with ease of use, however, it can be upgraded to a genoa or other configurations if desired by the owner.
Interior
Her three cabin has a spacious head and en-suite with an island bed and a large bathroom with a separate shower.
All of the interior furnishings are built from natural light oak veneer and marine grade plywood, in conjunction with modern style grey coloured cupboards and drawers for storage. Oak finishes have been used where it is anticipated that the furniture will experience the greatest amount of wear and tear so as to improve longevity.
Guests can sit comfortably at a centre table surrounded by the two folding wooden chairs to starboard and port of the galley when sailing. It can also be quickly converted back into a double berth.
The long galley provides ample counter space and cupboard space and houses a three burner stove with oven and a front opening refrigerator in the L-shaped countertop. The stove area is well protected by cleanable panels and ventilated by a hatch above the stove.
